Badu is a new boutique beachside hotel in Mexico, Puerto Escondido. 'Badu' derives from the Zapotecan indigenous language, and loosely translates to 'kid'. Badu wants its guests to reconnect with a more childlike way of thinking in adult life.
Puerto Escondido is becoming more popular, with an increasing number of new hostels and expensive luxury hotels. Badu wants to cater to people from all walks of life, and become a home away from home. They want to show guests the authentic Puerto Escondido experience, and this needs to be reflected in their visual identity.
We created a beautiful detailed illustration, which was inspired by the two iguanas that live on the property. This is paired with an organic, relaxed wordmark to create a brand that feels authentic, relaxed but also full of adventure.

"Working with Alice was one of the best decisions we could make. We are so happy that we entrusted her with our branding. Not only did she produce fantastic work, but she was also incredibly helpful and receptive. Alice went above and beyond to ensure our project felt authentic and unique. I can’t recommend her enough."
